New Delhi: Before the T20 World Cup 2024, the International Cricket Council ICC Launches new anthem. The apex cricketing body is ushering in a new era with its latest song which was composed by Grammy winner Lorne Balfe. It will be played across all ICC world events.
The debut of this new piece of music will be at the showpiece T20 World Cup starting in USA and West Indies. Hosts USA and Canada will will play the opening match on June 1, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.
As from next month, this song shall become the new anthem for all three formats – Tests, ODIs and T20 Internationals.

Balfe made the anthem at London’s legendary Abbey Road recording studios; he is famous for his acclaimed film scores.
This beautiful composition incorporates a mix of orchestral instruments as well as cricket equipment being used in innovative ways.

Speaking about his extraordinary creation, Scotland’s composer expressed delight and excitement regarding this project.
He said that it was great to work with the apex cricketing body ICC and creating something. “It was great to create something with ICC,” he said. “It is an anthem of unity that seeks to capture the spirit behind every boundary crossed or wicket taken in this beautiful timeless sport.”
