Ali Khan has played 7 ODI matches and 6 T20I matches, picking a combined 19 wickets.
The United States of America (USA) made history on Thursday after beating Bangladesh in the second T20I, thus, taking an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
The USA also shocked Bangladesh, a member nation of the ICC, as they took the first game two days ago.
It was Corey Anderson’s night with his spellbinding performance against team Bangladesh but it was Ali Khan who emerged as a hero to secure victory for his side by six runs.
Who is Ali Khan?
Unlike most of his fellow USA players, Mohammad Ahsan Ali Khan alias Ali Khan had a very interesting career path. He was born in Attock, Pakistan on December 13th, 1990, and moved to the US at age 19 with his parents.
Ali has played a lot of franchise cricket over the years and it began when he impressed at ICC Americas’ open trial in Indianapolis.
However, Ali became popular after getting Kumar Sangakkara out with his opening ball at the Caribbean Premier League in 2016.

He has been selected to play for the Khulna Titans team following the draft of players for BPL season 2018 19 held on October 28, 2018.
Ali Khan who has had impressive stints playing franchise cricket around the world was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the IPL auction last year.
Despite not having played for KKR at all that season, Ali has been a regular feature for Trinbago Knight Riders (KKR’s sister franchise) in the CPL since 2018.
He became an American citizen in 2017 but only made his first appearance for the USA during the ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament of 2019.
Ali also topped the wickets charts in six matches where he took 17 wickets on his way to becoming the highest wicket-taker of this competition. To date he has figured in seven ODIs and six T20Is, taking 19 wickets total.
Moreover, last year he featured for Los Angeles Knight Riders during their inaugural Major League Cricket campaign which took place in 2023.
Banned by ICC
In 2023, Ali Khan was banned by the ICC for two games due to his level-one breach of ICC Code of Conduct. This happened when Jersey batter Elliot Miles was dismissed by Ali with a fiery send off during the Qualifier Play-off match of Cricket World Cup 2023.
