What is Exit Poll: The exit poll is a survey that happens after an election while an opinion poll is taken before the election.
The assembly elections in four states—Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh will end on Saturday with the fourth phase of polling in Odisha along with the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections.
While the counting of votes for Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh assemblies will take place on June 2, results for remaining states and Lok Sabha constituencies will be announced on June 4.
People are waiting to see whether Biju Janata Dal Naveen Patnaik will become the Odisha chief minister for a record six terms or YSR Congress’ Jagan Mohan Reddy will be given the second term in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the Election Commission of India, exit polls are not permitted until 6 p.m. on June 1st which is the last day of voting.
Additionally, media houses both print and electronic have been barred from making any predictions concerning election results until 6 pm Saturday. Therefore, exit polls can resume after 6:30 pm when voting closes during the final stage.

An exit poll is a poll taken after the election and is similar to an opinion poll which is a pre-election survey. In it, electors are asked who they voted for after leaving the polling station; in contrast, people are asked who they think will win in the latter exercise.
Where to watch exit polls?
By 6:30-7 pm on Saturday evening news channels will start releasing their predictions. These can be streamed live on various social media platforms such as YouTube.
Most prominent exit polls in India are usually carried out by Chanakya, CVoter, and MyAxis India among others, and shown on ABP Network, Times Now, India Today, Aaj Tak, Zee News, TV9 Bharatvarsh, etc.,
Assembly polls 2024
The Odisha assembly, which has 147 members, will be voted for in four different phases while the voters have to vote on four dates May 13th, May 20th, May 25th, and the last phase on June 1st.
In the election held in year 2019, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) won elections and got an overwhelming majority winning a record of 113 seats out of a possible total of 147 in its favour. The party formed government for a 5th time consecutively with the present Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Andhra Pradesh Assembly consists of one hundred 75 members and voting was conducted in a single day on May 13th.
In the latest legislative assembly election in the year 2019, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) managed to get into power with around half votes securing about 49 point five percent votes which resulted in them getting one hundred 51 assembly seats chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led this new administration.
