Highlighted points
- On 28th May, Panchayat Season 3 started streaming on Prime Video.
- Politics and feelings are mixed to add new dimensions of suspense.
- Abhishek’s return to Phulera and changing relationships keep viewers glued to the screens.
In the third episode of ‘Panchayat’, Prahlad invites Jagmohan a resident of Phulera village who asks him for help telling his obdurate grandma not to leave them so that she can get her government allotted house.
Still puzzled, she wonders why he brought her there. His reply is “To make you feel what it is like staying in an empty house. It’s a most shattering pain which is inconceivable,” he said while shedding tears. He advises her not to exchange her family’s “gold” for “bricks and stones.”
While the second season is captivated through its genuine depiction of grief, Panchayat Season 3 continues remarkably by delving into deeper emotional issues.
Faisal Malik still expresses deep sorrow over losing his son when playing Prahlad. The politics take center stage in the new season while emotions remain at the core
The third season of the TVF series has escalating tensions between Bhushan AKA Banrakas (Durgesh Kumar) and Pradhan Brij Bhushan (Rahgubir Yadav), who are both at loggerheads due to burning questions like- ‘Who will be the next Pradhan?’ and ‘What will be the MLA’s next move?’ As a result, this intensifies drama and intrigue.
This is how the season begins with Sachiv, the new Panchayat secretary arriving. This time around, there is no Prahlad or Vikas available to welcome him with sweets and water in a similar fashion they did when Abhishek was around.
In favor of Pradhan ji, as things change, he effectively manipulates Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) into returning to Phulera.
Coinciding with the upcoming Panchayat elections there is an abrupt turn that leads to new secretary leaving and the reinstatement of Abhishek in Phulera. It however worsens Phulera’s already strained relations with MLA Chandrakishore Singh (Pankaj Jha).
Have a look at ‘Panchayat Season 3’ trailer:
Abhishek gets increasingly trapped within Phulera’s political landscape while his love life takes a backseat especially when it comes to Rinky (Sanvikaa). These stolen romantic moments at Fakauli market portray some sweetness amidst all this political numbness their love story becomes secondary.
The third season of “Panchayat” was written by Chandan Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, retaining the show’s signature charm – smart writing, relatable characters, and a warm exploration of rural life.
Furthermore, this season incorporates real-life occurrences such as election politics in its storylines to add an extra layer. However, despite staying true to itself at its core, the show may appear slow-paced for some audiences.
“Panchayat” retains its USP through the captivating performances of its incredible cast. While many characters retain their regular charm, Prahlad acted by Faisal Malik remains outstanding giving a performance that still pulls on heartstrings.
Chandan Roy represents Vikas’ evolution as he takes care of his family in addition to supporting Prahlad emotionally.
Abhishek played by Jitendra Kumar has changed quite significantly. He is no longer the naive city boy but has rather become comfortable around Phulera village. Career ambitions and village politics are two indicators that give us an insight into his growth over time.
Seasoned actor Raghubir Yadav again stands out in Pradhan ji’s role. We have watched three seasons, where he argued with his friends and family, but the silence he gave to his wife’s tough words shows how much pain is inside him. No need for melodramatics here; subtlety says it all in Yadav.
Meanwhile, every time Neena Gupta appears on screen wearing her starched cotton sarees she effortlessly mesmerizes the audience with her mere presence that lights up all scenes she is in.
It was refreshing to watch Manju Devi express herself and participate actively in village council meetings. But still, we had the same complaint from the makers – Not enough of her on the show!
Sanvikaa does justice to her part as Rinky leads this time around in a love story and starts off the romance. While Sunita Rajwar and Ashok Pathak do full justice to their characters, Durgesh Kumar as Bhushan and Pankaj Jha as MLA Chandrakishore Singh are impeccable too.
‘Panchayat Season 3’ does not disappoint overall. Yet Season 3 seems like an interesting epilogue only leading us toward season four by teasing that there would be even greater drama for viewers ahead.
The final scene could remind you of “The Battle of Baghpat” but without Einstein Chacha.
