Chandani Chowk Accident, a speeding ST bus driver lost control of his vehicle and hit other bikers causing serious injuries to three people. The incident happened at around 4 pm on Thursday 13th June 2024.
The impact was so great that the Mahacargo ST bus (MH14 BT 0881) broke up after hitting and breaking the divider on the road and then proceeded to hit two motorbikes on the opposite side of the street.
Three victims, one of them being a woman, have been admitted to hospital with dangerous conditions following this accident. Meanwhile, police cleared the traffic jam which has occurred because of this collision.

A similar case occurred on May 4 last month when there was a multi-vehicle crash at Chandni Chowk due to brake failure in the PMPML bus. Except for one person who had minor injuries, there were no deaths. Three four-wheelers as well as two motorbikes were damaged in that accident.
In each of these cases, accidents have been caused by overspeeding vehicles like buses, cars, and lorries. Meanwhile, civil action groups are pushing for action against high-speed vehicles.
Medha Kulkarni Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha has expressed her concern about it and requested Pune police department officials to take up projects for discouraging over-speeding vehicles using city roads.
