In a recent development, the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya has completely prohibited the use of mobile phones on its premises.
It was a joint decision taken by Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra and the Ayodhya administration. The authorities gave security concerns and for the comfort of the devotees as reasons.
Anil Mishra, Trustee of the temple, has appealed to all visiting worshippers to adhere to this latest regulation. For the convenience of those who worship there, there is a facility for leaving bags near the temple.
Responding to ANI correspondent’s inquiries, Mishra stated “We raised our apprehensions during a recent discussion with administrative officials about security threats and people’s ease; therefore we made up our mind.”
We would like to kindly urge all followers of this faith tradition to live in conformity with it … There are sufficient facilities available for safe custody of cellphones as well as other valuables. Devotees are urged to make use of such amenities while cooperating with every plan.”
Moreover, Champat Rai also informed the media about the plans by the trust to construct a 14-foot broad security wall around the mandir known as Parkota.
This area will contain six additional shrines dedicated to various other gods and goddesses besides being able to hold twenty-five thousand (25000) pilgrims at once according to Champat Rai.
