It was Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys who emphasized this during a lecture on Monday where he said trust and respect from customers are essential building blocks for businesses that want to grow.
While in Vietnam for five days, he talked about these subjects with Truong Gia Binh, the chairman of FPT, a Vietnamese IT firm.
Narayana Murthy Statement
Looking back at how Infosys has survived over time, he recollected that his primary objective upon starting it up was not just to make profits but to earn esteem.
He wanted to ensure that his company was viewed as being better than any other organization by its customers in the country.
“What I’m saying is that if your customers respect you then you will be profitable…you will attract good people…” added Mr. Murthy. “businesses need to achieve this if they’re thinking long term.”

In addition, most successful entrepreneurs around the world give 75% of their shares to their junior employees and so does Infosys.
Similarly, according to Murthy, workers must also regard company assets as something worth preserving.
Furthermore, companies should organize favorable conditions for long-term retention of personnel.
Money in my own opinion is not the most important thing but they would appreciate respect from human resources, he commented.
“The potentiality that Vietnam has put it at a place where it is poised to become one of the leading developed countries in Asia,” said Murthy.
“I am sure your development will be greater than that of many other countries in Asia and therefore with no doubt the prosperity of Vietnam will bring on its people.” He observed.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also met Murthy who noted that India is among top priorities in the country’s foreign policy.
