Apple iOS 18 is all set to release on June 10 at the upcoming WWDC 2024 and bring major updates with smarter SIRI with AI, Customizable Home Screen, etc.
The month of 2024 June came in and we are just a few days to Apple’s annual developer’s conference. This year, the conference will be from 10th to 14th June where Keynote will take part on the starting day.
During this keynote, it is expected that Apple will present its new software updates such as iOS 18, and iPad OS 18 among others. Though all announcements generate excitement, this time around people are more Excited to hear about the new iPhone software update – iOS 18.
Reports say that Apple is planning to redesign the iPhone experience using the upcoming iOS 18. Furthermore, the iPhone operating system’s biggest update yet is anticipated with this latest software iteration. As WWDC approaches let us go into detail of what we know so far about iOS 18.

SIRI will be more smarter with AI on Apple iOS 18
There are strong indications that AI will improve significantly in iOS 18, focusing particularly on Siri, which is Apple’s virtual assistant.
For Example, there are reports that IOS 18 will improve the response generation capabilities of Siri and introduce a new smart response system.
This would allow Siri to offer more contextually appropriate responses by considering entities including people, businesses, events, places, and dates among others.
AI will be on other iOS Apps
AI will not be expected of Siri alone. Smart Replies is also a feature that other iOS apps such as the Messages app have, where you can respond to messages and emails using auto-generated text.
The notes app would get transcription and summarization tools that allow users to edit audio, transcribe recordings, or summarize text right within the application.

Additionally, there will be integration with the Calculator app through new Math Notes for proper mathematical notation recognition of math equations, solution provision, and graph generation among others.
Moreover, it is expected that iOS 18 will bring about keyboard math predictions similar to predictive texting making it easier for complex problems.
AI Editor for Photos on Apple iOS 18
iOS 18 photo editing in general will see a boost from generative AI. According to various reports Apple plans to add a ‘Clean Up’ tool that allows users to remove unwanted objects from images seamlessly instead of retouching like before.
Also included in iOS 18 is an app called Generative Playground which allows users to generate and edit pictures using generative artificial intelligence technology.
Although initially intended for internal tests only, this application suggests that Future functionalities might include generating and sharing iMessage pictures thus leading the way for custom-made emojis.

Home Screen Customization
You can expect that Apple iOS 18 will carry out important revisions on home screen customization. Meanwhile, users are allowed to place app icons all over the grid, create empty spaces, columns, and rows, and change the color of app icons thereby enhancing personalization.
Messaging apps will support RCS
The Messages app will add support for RCS cross-platform messaging standards these improvements will enable better messaging between iPhones and Androids including features such as higher resolution media, typing indicators and read receipts, Wi-Fi messaging capability, and stronger group chat functionalities.
Accessibility features
Eye Tracking, Vehicle Motion Cues, Music Haptics, and Vocal Shortcuts are also some of the accessibility features that we can see more of in iOS 18. Sound Recognition in CarPlay updates warn users about car horns or sirens being sounded nearby.
