A Chhattisgarh blast occurred at the largest explosives unit in Chhattisgarh, a gunpowder manufacturing factory in Bemetara. That is said by initial probes of the Bemetara District Magistrate.

One person died and six others were injured when an explosion happened at an explosives factory in Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday. This factory is the largest gunpowder-making unit in the state.
The explosion took place at the plant in Borsi village, according to one official. Two teams of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) units came rushing to this explosion site from adjacent districts including Durg and Raipur.

One more team of SDRF is being deployed from Rajnandgoan. At least 10 to 12 fire tenders are there at dousing place for extinguishing fire.
“There is no cause for alarm,” said Ramkrishna Sahu, Superintendent of Police, Bemetara district while talking to reporters here today. “SDRF team as well as an expert team available.
If you want any information regarding this incident I can give details later. As far as we know; five or six injured have been admitted.”
“Six of them have been injured and they are being treated. The fire service, medical team, administration, and police are here. (about casualties) Not yet confirmed. The cause of the blast is a matter of inquiry.”
The six injured were referred to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur for treatment.
Dr Shivam Patel who is an Assistant Professor at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital said, “there were a total of seven patients with one that was brought dead, while the rest are still undergoing treatment and their condition remain stable”.
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao visited the explosion site and said, “An inquiry has been initiated and strong actions will be taken against the guilty. The government will provide Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the family of the deceased.”
