Police in Jammu and Kashmir have detained 50 persons who are being connected to the recent Reasi bus terror attack that left 9 people dead including a minor and injured 41 others.
Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday took into custody 50 suspects as part of its investigation into the recent terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district, said officials.
A spokesman for police said the detentions were made following an extensive investigation carried out by the police along with other security forces which significant leads, thus helping to identify some of those potentially involved in planning the attack.
The spokesperson said “Significant leads have been uncovered, aiding in the identification and capture of those who may be potentially involved in orchestrating the attack. To ensure a comprehensive probe search operations have been expanded to cover far-flung areas of Arnas and Mahore.”

9 people including a minor died while 41 others were injured after terrorists shot at a 53-seater bus ferrying worshippers to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine at Katra town which fell into a deep gorge on Sunday (June 9) evening. The vehicle was carrying devotees from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi among other places.
“The law enforcement agencies are committed to making sure that the offenders face the consequences for their actions, and ensuring that all residents and visitors in the area are safe and secure,” according to a spokesperson.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police also published sketches of four terrorists, who were involved in the Doda district attacks, offering Rs 20 lakh cash as a reward for information leading to their arrests.
Following intelligence inputs about terror outfits planning more attacks on security forces, several districts of the Valley including Sunderbani, Nowshera, Domana, Lamberi, and Akhnoor areas of Rajouri and Jammu districts have been put on high alert.
Officials said ‘Fidayeen’ (suicide) attacks by terrorists on camps, and installations could not be ruled out as such places need maximum alerting by intelligence agencies.
